During the
days I actually had to learn for my school exams, I apparently thought the more superficial fashion was more interesting to keep up with. Instead of reading
books about biologic stuff like metabolism, genetics and neurobiology, which I honestly find very interesting, I used to refresh my bloglovin account
constantly and discover new fashion blogs. However, I succeeded in
achieving my bachelors degree in Bio-Medical Sciences at the University of Amsterdam. Afterwards I realized I
didn’t want to work in the field of science.
In December
2012 I founded Blog and The City; the platform where fashion blogs are organized by the cities they are based in. These months so far have been amazing to
see my website develop and getting known among fashion bloggers. However, I
still miss a place to get more personal and to express my other interests
like lifestyle and philosophy. That’s the reason why I started ‘Tao of Sophia’. The blog name is based on the book ‘Tao of Pooh’ by Benjamin Hoff which
I have read recently. I am able to identify myself with Taoism; partly by the way I already
used to think, and partly how I would like my thoughts to maintain and evolve
further. Haven’t heard of Taoism yet? Be sure to keep up with my blog to learn
about it, as I like to mix and combine it to some fashion, together with other philosophies.
Don’t be afraid it’s all going to be about some spiritual journey, because I am
as down-to-earth as the Dutch people are known for. The main focus will be
on fashion and my personal style!
Enough
talking about me. If we haven’t met through Blog and The City yet, I would love
to connect with you now! Leave me a comment or send me an e-mail and I will answer you for sure.
